Written by Pieter Mijnendonckx on 17 March 2020 for Graduates

Whether you’re in quarantine, on the lookout for an interesting study break or just bored as hell. You’re in desperate need of some entertainment. And since you’ve already read every blogpost Exellys has ever published, a tv-show, movie or documentary might just do the trick.

Well, don’t worry because with some help of our Instagram followers we curated a list of tech related and binge-worthy tv-shows and movies that will keep you entertained.

Silicon Valley

This HBO classic follows the struggle of Richard Hendricks, a Silicon Valley engineer trying to build his own company called Pied Piper. If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll definitely recognize some of the GIFs we regularly use in our blogposts.

Black Mirror

For the minority of our audience that hasn’t seen this already, Black Mirror explores a twisted, high-tech multiverse where humanity’s greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide.

The IT Crowd

Mr. Robot

The Great Hack

Even if you’re very familiar with data tracking, it’s hard to find Netflix’s new documentary The Great Hack anything short of terrifying. Like a horror story for the digital age, the documentary features the twin villains of Cambridge Analytica and Facebook and shows how they used people’s own data to weave a dystopian web of deceit and distrust.

The Office

A mockumentary on a group of typical office workers, where the workday consists of ego clashes, inappropriate behavior, and tedium. We even drew some inspiration from this legendary show for our list of office pranks. Although we can’t be sure on when you’ll be able to return to your office, it’s never too early to start planning.

Halt and Catch Fire

Set in the 1980s, this series dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time.

Citizenfour

In January 2013, an American documentary film director/producer receives an encrypted e-mail from a stranger who calls himself, “Citizenfour.” In it, he offers her inside information about illegal wiretapping practices of the NSA and other intelligence agencies. In June 2013, she travels to Hong Kong with her camera for the first meeting with “Citizenfour”, who reveals himself as Edward Snowden.
